For many years, Paul was a primary school teacher at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Catholic Primary School in his home town of Widnes, Cheshire, largely teaching KS2. Every Friday, Paul can be found in St Bede’s Junior School, Widnes, playing the piano for class assemblies, etc!
Formerly the Director of music at St Paul’s Catholic Church, Liverpool, Paul is the Director of music at St Luke’s historic medieval CE Church, Farnworth Village, Widnes, Cheshire and a cathedral organ recitalist. Every Sunday morning, you’ll find him at St Luke’s, playing the organ!
Paul has published 8 children’s books, 4 volumes of poetry and 4 stories. ‘Blackfriars’ – a fabulous adventure story all about teenage S.O.E. agents set in WWII is completed, edited by ‘Special ops’ series author, Craig Simpson. A new poetry book and more exciting stories are planned…
Paul has written many hymns and songs, including ‘Mr Scrooge’ and ‘Dr Jekyll’, both KS2/KS3 musicals with a book and songs. He’s currently working with Liverpool Archdiocese, composing new songs linked to their new ‘Come and see’ R.E. scheme, launching soon. Watch this space!
The survivor of four OFSTED inspections, Paul Delaney is the lucky recipient of FOUR ‘tidiest classroom’ gold medal awards! Fortunately, the inspectors never looked inside his stockroom! Phew – that was close!
